A Quiet Corner of Cleveland: The Chinese Cultural Garden

Cleveland, Ohio — Rockefeller Park.
Most people drive right past the Cultural Gardens doing forty, on their way somewhere they think matters more. I used to be one of them. Then I stopped the car.
The Chinese Cultural Garden sits in there quiet — stone, water, and green, built by a community that wanted its corner of Cleveland to say where it came from. Every garden in that park is a neighborhood introducing itself. All you have to do is walk slow enough to hear it.
Walk slow. That is the whole trick, for the park and the camera both.

I shoot loud rooms for a living — concerts, events, crowds. But the quiet frames are the ones people hang in their houses. Nobody puts chaos over the couch.
It is still there, free, in the middle of Cleveland, waiting on whoever finally stops the car. Stop the car.
