Live Music Photography in Northeast Ohio
Stage light. No second takes.
That is the whole job in six words, and it is why I love it.
A landscape will wait for you. A singer will not. The note is coming when it comes, the lights are doing whatever they want, and the man next to you is spilling his drink toward your lens. You get the frame or you go home with a story about the frame.
Some of my favorite rooms are the small ones. The Delaware down in New Philadelphia has given me some of the best live music photographs I have ever taken — bands like Urban Honey and the Intangibles, close enough that the pictures feel like the music sounds. Loud. Honest. Right there.
I do not shoot concerts like a spectator. I shoot them like a fan who happens to be holding a camera and knows where the light is about to land. There is a difference, and you can see it in the pictures.
If your band is playing Northeast Ohio and you want it documented the way it actually felt — not posed, not cleaned up, alive — that is my work. The photos on this page are the proof. Turn it up.
